Group 1 performer; winner of fiver of his first eight starts, notably Listed Fairway Stakes at Newmarket in May 2018; followed up in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot ; sixth in the Irish Derby at the Curragh, then won the Group 2 Great Voltigeur at York; appeared not to stay when fifth in the St Leger in September on final start of that campaign; won Group 2 at Meydan on reappearance in March 2019 (1m4f, good) before picking up his first win at the highest level when taking the Sheema Classic (1m4f, good); produced a lacklustre effort when only seventh in the Group 1 Coronation Cup at Epsom on British return; given a another small break and came back with a third in Grosser Preis von Berlin next time; ready winner of Grade 1 Northern Dancer Stakes at Woodbine (good) in September but then well held in Breeders' Cup Turf on next start in November and again when next seen in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in June; no huge improvement when cheekpieces were applied on next start at Newmarket, albeit in ground he may not have enjoyed.
