Nominations for the Godolphin Stud and Stable Stud Awards close this Friday, 12 February at 5pm. Nominations may be made by anyone working in the racing or breeding industry, not just trainers and stud farm managers.

Nomination forms are available to submit online at www.goracing.ie or printed copies are available from Irish Stable Staff Association committee members.

There are eight categories to choose from: Leadership, Rider/Groom, Head Lad/Girl or Travelling Head Lad/Girl, Stud Employee, Administration, Dedication to Racing, Newcomer, Ancillary Services. The winners of these Awards will go forward to the Irish Racing Excellence Award.

The Racecourse Award makes up the 10th award and is restricted to votes from stable staff for the racecourse that they feel offers the best overall facilities for stable staff.

There is €70,000 prize money on offer for the 10 awards, including a trip to Dubai for the Newcomer Award winner.

Chairman of the Irish Stable Staff Committee, Bernard Caldwell said: "Nomination forms will be accepted from anyone working in racing or breeding, so I would encourage as many stud and stable staff to nominate their friends and colleagues within their own yard or farm or colleagues they have worked with previously. Every nomination counts - a person only has to be nominated once to be considered."

Bernard Caldwell continued: "The Racecourse Award is also a great opportunity for stable staff to have their say on the racecourse offering the best facilities for stable staff. Nominations will only be accepted from stable staff for this award."
