James McDonald, Godolphin's retained jockey in Australia, arrives in Britain next week for a summer stint that will take in Royal Ascot, Newmarket's July Meeting, plus other major fixtures.

McDonald, 23, the reigning Sydney champion, rode on UK tracks on a previous visit and is looking forward to reacquainting himself with the British racing scene.

He is to join William Buick and James Doyle, the two locally contracted Godolphin riders, and is expected to slot in as a valuable member of the team.

"We have plenty of horses and rides to go around, this is the busiest time of the year," John Ferguson, Bloodstock Advisor to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, pointed out.

"James rode many of the European horses we sent to Australia during the season and this is a great chance for him to also get a feel of some possibles that may be sent Down Under in future," he added.

McDonald is available to ride in Britain from Wednesday 10th June, and rides can be booked through agent Michael Haggas on 01638 660811 or 07740 624550.
