Future Empire races over an extended 12 furlongs for the first time in the Group Three MBNA Chester Vase at Chester, UK, on Thursday, May 7.
The three-year-old colt, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, stayed on strongly to take second, beaten four lengths, on his seasonal return in a 10-furlong conditions race at Epsom Downs on April 22.
The son of New Approach ran well in a pair of Group Three contests as juvenile, coming home third in the mile Betfred Goals Galore Autumn Stakes at Newmarket in October and going down by a short-head in the European Wealth Solario Stakes over seven furlongs at Sandown Park in August.
Future Empire ran on for a clear debut success in a seven-furlong maiden at Newmarket in July.
Saeed bin Suroor said: "Future Empire stayed on well at Epsom Downs and has been working nicely since then.
"He is ready for the step up to a mile and a half and I am hopeful that he can run a good race."
James Doyle has his third ride on Future Empire, who faces five others including Leopardstown maiden winner Hans Holbein and French Group Three third Medrano.
