So Factual was trained by Guy Harwood at two and three and his two wins included the Listed European Free Handicap at Newmarket; joined Godolphin in 1994 and, having won three times on dirt at Nad Al Sheba, finished runner-up in the Group 3 Cork And Orrery Stakes at Royal Ascot; went one better in the same race on his second start in 1995 and then went on to enjoy his finest hour in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York two months later; he was effective from 5f to 7f and his best form came on fast ground and on dirt
