Allergic makes a second successive appearance over a mile and a quarter at Moonee Valley in the Group Two William Hill Alister Clark Stakes on Friday, March 20.

The three-year-old, representing John O'Shea and ridden by Chad Schofield, steps up in class after keeping on in second, beaten seven lengths by Chill Party, in a handicap on March 9.

The son of Street Cry was an impressive 10-length winner of a maiden over just short of nine furlongs at Sale on February 20.

John O'Shea commented: "Allergic was only fair at his last start despite a comprehensive victory at his Sale maiden but I think he prefers to be allowed to gallop - it was a tricky ride in a slowly-run race.

"From gate 13, Chad will have no alternative but to let him roll, put him into the race and let him gallop freely.

"He is a fit horse, having had a run over 2,000 metres previously, and while he may not be suited to Moonee Valley, we will get a true indication of his capacity to handle this.

"Obviously, he is not well treated at the weights but we believe he is talented enough to be competitive and give us a guide as to where he fits in."

Allergic faces 13 rivals including Group One Australian Guineas third Stratum Star, Chill Party, dual Group Two third Firehouse Rock and Morphettville handicap scorer October Date.
