Ambience, Alegria and Allergic have conditions to suit at Rosehill

Suitable track conditions and good lead up work support the prospects of the Godolphin fillies Ambience and Alegria in the G3 Epona Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.
While both have found victory elusive in recent campaigns, they have retained their desire and ability and are ready to be rewarded, according to trainer John O’Shea.
“Ambience was very unlucky last start when she got poleaxed at the 300m and was put completely out of the race when she was about to run into it,” O’Shea said.
“Her work on Tuesday was first class, she loves the ground, so I expect a good performance from her.”
Ambience (William Buick) recorded her last win 15 months ago in the G2 Wakeful Stakes at Flemington, but since then has been placed at G1 level in the VRC, ATC and Queensland Oaks.
Alegria (Corey Brown) ran in the same Randwick race two weeks ago as her stablemate, finishing second to Elle Lou over 1600m, a performance O’Shea.
“She has been in good from all preparation and her performance last start was really strong, so the step up to 1900m suits her and so does the ground.”
O’Shea also has high hopes of a return to his best form by Allergic (William Buick) in the G3 Manion Cup.
A G3 winner and G1 placed last Spring, Allergic showed he was near his best last start when third to the G1 performers Tavago and Antonio Giuseppe at Rosehill, and O’Shea has no concerns about backing him up seven days later.
“He’s taken a while to get fit as he always does, but he was very good last week,” he said.
“He put on a bit of weight after the run so I thought I’d take the opportunity to back him up on the wet ground that he likes.
“He’s bouncing around the box, he’s got a good record at a mile-and-a-half and at Rosehill.”
