Ambience (John O'Shea/Hugh Bowman) raced impressively through the grades last Spring, winning at G2 level and then finishing third in the VRC Oaks at Flemington.
The daughter of Street Cry resumed two weeks ago, running moderately in a race too short for her behind stablemate Ghisoni.
But she has pleased trainer John O'Shea since and moves up to 1600m for a run that could influence the stable to continue on a G1 ATC Oaks program or stick to a shorter race over The Championships program at Randwick next month.
"I'm not quite decided on whether she is as effective at 2400m as she might be in slightly shorter races," O'Shea said.
"She's done well in the lead up to this race and should be able to take a good position and give us a guide to where we go."
Ambience is accompanied in the Kembla Grange Classic by the highly-talented Assinara (John O'Shea/James McDonald).
Asinara created a huge impression when winning at Rosehill in January at her second start and finished fourth at the same track last month in her only run since.
"She had a few things go against her when she resumed. I'll be looking for a lot more this time," O'Shea said.
