Badajoz races at Group Three level for the first time in the Seven News National Stakes over six furlongs at Morphettville, Australia, on Saturday, May 16.
The two-year-old son of Commands, trained by John O'Shea, battled well to take fourth in the Listed Thoroughbred Club Cup over the same distance at Caulfield on May 2.
He made an exciting debut over half a furlong shorter when powering clear to win a Hawkesbury maiden easily in a class record time on April 16.
John O'Shea commented: "Badajoz was a tad unlucky on his last run, when his draw ultimately compromised his finish as he was three-wide with no cover.
"We have added the winkers this week and expect him to roll forward from gate two.
"This looks an easier race than his last start and he has trained on really well.
"He arrived in Adelaide on Friday morning to allow a relaxing day and, all going well, he will acquit himself well in a nice stakes race."
Glen Boss takes the ride for the first time on Badajoz, who tackles nine opponents including Listed scorer Strykum, dual Morphettville winner Counter Pulse and Prince Of Brooklyn.
