Beautiful Romance kept on to finish third on her seasonal return in the Group Three Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes over seven furlongs at Newmarket on Wednesday, April 15.
Beautiful Romance kept on to finish third on her seasonal return in the Group Three Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes over seven furlongs at Newmarket on Wednesday, April 15.
The three-year-old New Approach filly, trained by Saeed bin Suroor and ridden by James Doyle, was a little slow into stride and raced in seventh of the eight runners early on.
She took closer order after the first quarter-mile and travelled strongly to go third approaching the final three furlongs.
Beautiful Romance battled on after briefly being short of room over a furlong from home to go down by just over a length and a half to Osaila, who won in 1m 23.24s on ground described as good to firm (good in places).
Saeed bin Suroor commented: "Beautiful Romance ran well and I am pleased that she has finished third in a Group Three.
"We will keep the options open but she will step up in distance. She will stay a mile and a quarter or a mile and a half in the future."
