Godolphin's crack juvenile Blue Point is set to run in the G2 Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes at York on August 20 after impressing all with his brilliant speed on the gallops at home.
The colt reappears after finishing a gutsy second in the G2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood on July 28 when he was beaten a neck by Mehmas in the important six-furlong contest.
Trainer Charlie Appleby explained: "We thought that his inexperience had caught him out at Goodwood and that a step up to seven furlongs might suit.
"But watching him again in routine work last Saturday -- and discussing it with Willie Ryan, who rides him in his work -- this colt has so much natural speed, I think it better to stick to six furlongs for the time being."
