Birchwood won the G2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket's July Festival 12 months ago but has disappointed on both his starts this season, while Yattwee steps up in class after taking fifth in the mile Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot on June 16.
Richard Fahey commented: "Birchwood will run with a visor which will hopefully spark him up. He has disappointed twice but I would like to think we can get him back on track in a race that suits from a good draw."
Saeed bin Suroor said: "Yattwee is in great condition and I am pleased with his work at home. He ran well at Ascot to finish fifth. He is a very consistent horse and I expect him to be competitive."
