Contributer Back In Action At Moonee Valley

Contributer, who enjoyed a fabulous time last season, returns to action in the Group Two Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes over a mile at Moonee Valley, Australia, on Saturday, September 5.

The five-year-old, trained by John O'Shea, was victorious when last seen out in the Group One Ranvet Stakes over 10 furlongs at Rosehill Gardens on March 21.

He was also a Group One winner over a mile, denying stable companion Hartnell by half a length in the Liverpool City Council Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm on February 28.

Contributer has won four of his five starts so far in Australia, having also taken the seven-furlong Group Two Optus Apollo Stakes at Randwick on February 14 and the 10-furlong Group Three David Jones Cup at Caulfield in October, 2014.

Contributer was campaigned previously in the UK, where he was successful twice in Listed company.

John O'Shea said: "First-up from a spell, Contributer presents into this race having had a wonderful preparation, two nice barrier trials and a gallop at the Valley last Tuesday.

"From gate two he is going to have to be a bit positive on jumping to ensure he holds his spot but it is a big drop back in grade and is one of the easier races he has had to compete in - he does have an exceptional first-up record.

"If he gets a little bit of luck in running, we are very optimistic that he will be winning this race."

Dwayne Dunn rides Contributer for the first time in Saturday's contest, with 11 opponents including triple Group Two scorer Mourinho and Group One Emirates Stakes third The Cleaner.
