James Cummings celebrated an impressive milestone on Sunday, 25 September when Picarones won the opening race at Sandown-Hillside in Victoria on the Melbourne Racing Club's Underwood Stakes Day card.
The four-year-old mare, expertly rated by premier Victorian jockey Jamie Kah, held off Cap De Joie and Arktika to give Cummings his 1,000th win since taking over as head trainer for Godolphin in Australia five years ago.
Cummings celebrated the first win of his tenure on Wednesday, 8 July 2017 when subsequent Stakes winner Manicure (Exceed And Excel) saluted at Warwick Farm.
