Curragh Third For Queen Of Sicily

Queen Of Sicily kept on to finish third in the Group Three Jebel Ali Racecourse Anglesey Stakes over six furlongs at the Curragh, Ireland, on Saturday, July 18.

The two-year-old filly, representing Jim Bolger, was covered up in fourth of the five-strong field early on before being switched out by Kevin Manning at the halfway point.

She briefly pressed for the lead with a furlong and a half to race and battled away in the closing stages to go down by three lengths in total to Final Frontier, who survived a stewards' enquiry to beat Miss Katie Mae by a neck in 1m 17.02s on good ground.
