RTÉ television presenter and horse racing enthusiast, Dáithí Ó Sé will present the trophies at the 2016 Irish Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards, at the Dunraven Arms Hotel in Adare, County Limerick, on Tuesday, April 19.
Dáithí will be joined by MC Jonathan Mullin, Irish Editor of the Racing Post, in front of an audience made up of representatives of all sectors of the Irish racing industry, the finalists in each of the categories and their invited guests.
Dáithí Ó Sé said: "Racing is a big passion of mine and I have huge admiration for what our Irish-bred horses, trainers and jockeys have achieved, however, like all other sports, I'm acutely aware that all the extremely dedicated staff working in the background also deserve the plaudits.
"Racing simply wouldn't happen without stud and stable staff, so it's a real privilege to be invited to the Irish Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards and share in their wonderful contribution to a great industry."
There are 10 categories, which carry total prize-money of €70,000 along with specially commissioned trophies for the winners.
The winner of each of the five main categories, Administration, Stud Employee, Head (or Travelling Head) Lad/Girl, Rider/Groom and Leadership will receive a cash prize of €5,000 each and a trophy. The two runners-up in each of these categories will receive €500 each. An additional €4,000 will also be awarded to the winner's yard or stud.
The winner of the Dedication to Racing, Newcomer Award, Ancillary Services and the Racecourse Award will each receive €2,500 and a trophy.
The winners of the, Administration, Stud Employee, Head (or Travelling Head) Lad/Girl, Rider/Groom, Leadership and Dedication to Racing categories will be also be nominated for the Irish Racing Excellence Award, the winner of which will receive an additional €5,000 and €5,000 for their yard or stud.
This year, the Lifelong Learning Award has been replaced by the Newcomer Award and a trip to Dubai has been added to the prize in addition to the existing €2,500 cash prize and trophy.
