Demonstrate steps back up to Group Three level for the KS Environmental Vain Stakes over five and a half furlongs at Caulfield, Australia, on Saturday, August 15.

The John O'Shea-trained three-year-old ran on gamely for a short-head victory in a Moonee Valley handicap over half a furlong shorter on August 1.

He came home fifth in a six-furlong handicap at Flemington on July 18 and scored over the same distance when taking a Mornington maiden in good style on July 7.

The son of New Approach finished down the field on his only previous Group Three appearance in the Sportingbet B D Prelude, run over the same course and distance as the Vain Stakes, in February.

John O'Shea said: "Demonstrate has had a very successful campaign and I feel he presents into this race beautifully.

"He gets a significant weight drop from his last start and there is an abundance of speed, so Patrick (Moloney) should be able to have him three pairs back, one-off the fence and will be swooping late.

"Demonstrate has trained on beautifully, his blood profile and all his capabilities are as good as they have been earlier in the prep. This is not a race with enormous depth and I am sure he will be more than competitive."

Demonstrate, ridden by Patrick Moloney and drawn seven, tackles nine rivals including Ragazzo Del Corsa, Gold Symphony and Braccenby.
