Demonstrate remains at Group Three level for the HDF McNeil Stakes over six furlongs at Caulfield, Australia, on Saturday, August 29.

The three-year-old son of New Approach, trained by John O'Shea, raced most recently when fourth, beaten just over a length, in the Group Three KS Environmental Vain Stakes at an extended five furlongs at Caulfield on August 15.

He captured a five-furlong handicap at Moonee Valley on August 1 and was also successful in a six-furlong maiden at Mornington on July 2.

John O'Shea said: "Demonstrate has held his form and good condition but, unfortunately, has drawn a very poor gate in 11.

"He could find himself second-last in an attempt to get in closer. He was very unlucky at his last start but if he can get some luck in running, he will perform very well again.

"From gate 11, he will need an enormous amount of luck to be in the finish of this race as it is a much stronger field than what he met at his last start."

Craig Newitt, who partnered Demonstrate at Moonee Valley, takes the ride again. The 10 other runners include Group Two scorers Prince Of Brooklyn and Gold Symphony.
