Three-year-old colt Drummore steps up to G3 level for the Prix Djebel over seven furlongs on turf at Deauville, France, on Monday, 9 April.

The son of Dubawi, trained by Andre Fabre and ridden by Mickael Barzalona, returns to turf after staying on well to take second behind Corinthia Knight on Polytrack in the Listed Prix Montenica over six and a half furlongs on 15 March, his seasonal return.

Drummore was a comfortable winner of a maiden, run over the same course and distance as the Prix Montenica, in October and came home fifth on heavy turf in the extended five-furlong Listed Prix Yacowlef, also at Chantilly, in November.

Drawn 11, he takes on 11 other three-year-olds including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum’s Cardsharp, who won the G2 July Stakes at Newmarket last season, and unbeaten colt Sacred Life.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “Drummore ran well last time out at Chantilly and the form has worked out well, with Corinthia Knight subsequently winning.

“He is fit and ready to run a nice race, although it wouldn’t be a surprise if there were one or two others in the field that are better than him.”
