Dubai Legacy booked his place in the G2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot later this month with a cosy debut victory in an extended six-furlong maiden at Doncaster, UK, on Saturday, 2 June.

The Discreet Cat colt, a first two-year-old winner of 2018 for trainer Saeed bin Suroor, travelled strongly under Graham Lee and overcame signs of greenness in the closing stages to beat Eagle Hunter by half a length in 1m 22.67s on soft ground.

Saeed bin Suroor said: “Dubai Legacy is a nice colt, who always shows us something in his work in the mornings, and I was pleased to see him win on his first start.

“He won on soft ground today but I feel that he will be better on a quicker surface and we will take him to Royal Ascot for the Coventry Stakes (G2, 6f, 19 June).

“The horses are really starting to come into themselves now and we have had a few winners recently. I hope that we can continue the good form over the coming weeks.”
