Entertains On Epona Stage

Entertains steps up to nine and a half furlongs for the first time in the Group Three Hertz Epona Stakes at Rosehill Gardens, Australia, on Saturday, March 21.

The four-year-old filly, trained by John O'Shea, finished strongly when beaten a head in the Group Three Aspiration Quality over a mile at Royal Randwick on March 7.

She posted three wins during the first half of this season, including a cosy success in a nine-furlong handicap at Randwick-Kensington in October.

William Buick partners the daughter of Street Cry for the first time.

John O'Shea reported: "Entertains put herself into calculations for this race with a very strong performance in her last start. She has trained on nicely since that second in a Group Three and I think the step up to 1,900 metres will hold no issues for her.

"From gate four, William should have her in a beautiful position with an opportunity to be in the finish here. I can't fault her and if anything she is probably a better chance this week than on her last start."

Entertains takes on 10 fillies and mares including Group One Australian Oaks heroine and Caulfield Cup runner-up Rising Romance, plus Adorabeel and Intimate Moment, who were first and third in the Aspiration Quality.
