Fleur d’Iris dominates in G3 Prix d’Aumale

Two-year-old filly Fleur d’Iris made all of the running for a decisive victory in the mile G3 Prix d’Aumale at Longchamp, France, on Thursday, 9 September.
The Shamardal homebred, a close second in the G2 Prix du Calvados on her previous outing for Andre Fabre, was smartly into her stride and immediately led the nine-strong field.
She was never seriously challenged in the straight and found plenty under Mickael Barzalona, streaking further clear inside the final furlong before being eased to beat Zellie by a length and a half.
Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “It was a very pleasant victory from Fleur d’Iris, who is progressing with each race. She is a physically imposing filly, which is a promising sign for her three-year-old season, and all options will be looked at for the remainder of this year.”
