Intersection (Ryuji Okubo/Kiwamu Ogino) steps up in class and trip for the G2 Kyoto Shimbun Hai over 11 furlongs at Kyoto, Japan, on Saturday, 5 May.

The three-year-old Street Cry colt gained a first victory on his fifth start when scoring by two lengths in a Kyoto maiden over nine furlongs on 21 April.

Harry Sweeney, President of Godolphin in Japan, said: “Intersection is a progressive horse and won nicely on his last start.

“However, it did take him five attempts to break his maiden and this is an enormous step up in class.

“His trainer was anxious to run him and in truth we have little to lose. Nevertheless, we are more filled with hope than expectation.”
