G3 second for Carry On Deryck

Carry On Deryck acquitted himself well on his Pattern debut with a clear second in the nine-furlong G3 Godolphin Stud And Stable Staff Awards Darley Stakes on day two of Newmarket's Dubai Future Champions Festival, Saturday, October 8.
The Saeed bin Suroor-trained four-year-old, who was also runner-up over the same course and distance in the Cambridgeshire heritage handicap on September 24, disputed third early on before moving up to track Custom Cut in second after the first quarter-mile.
He quickened well under Jim Crowley to briefly dispute the running approaching the final furlong and galloped all the way to the line to go down by a length and a half to Muffri'ha, with the same margin back to Johannes Vermeer in third.
Saeed bin Suroor commented: “Carry On Deryck ran a big race to finish second in a G3 against some good horses.
“We will take him back out to Dubai again now. He won a handicap at Meydan earlier this year and we will look for some nice races for him.”
