Generalife makes his seasonal return in the Group Two G1X.com.au Premiere Stakes over six furlongs at Royal Randwick, Australia, on Saturday, October 3.

The six-year-old, representing John O'Shea, ran two tremendous races over just short of seven furlongs at Doomben at the end of the last campaign, including when running on strongly to take third in the Group One AAMI Stradbroke Handicap on June 6.

The son of Lonhro was also third, beaten a short-neck and a nose, in the Group One James Boag's Doomben 10,000 over the same course and distance on May 23 and won the Group Three Irresistible Star Kingdom Stakes over six furlongs at Rosehill Gardens in March.

Generalife was fourth in last year's Premiere Stakes, when he missed the break and met trouble in running throughout the straight.

John O'Shea commented: "Generalife should have won the 2014 Premiere Stakes and comes into this year's event going as well, if not better. The only problem may be that it is a slightly stronger version this year.

"His trials have been first class, his work on Tuesday was excellent and his overall condition is really good.

"From gate five, he will be three or four pairs back and should be able to come to the outside.

"I still think he will give this race one helluva shake, there is good speed which he will appreciate and he should be be coming home strong at the finish. I would love to see him return to the winner's circle."

Generalife, with James McDonald in the saddle, opposes seven rivals headed by Darley Classic victor Terravista, the 2013 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes scorer Rebel Dane and last year's Premiere Stakes winner Famous Seamus.
