Australian sprinter Brazen Beau is set to carry the Godolphin royal blue colours on his next outing, the Darley July Cup, at Newmarket on July 11 following his gallant second in Saturday's Diamond Jubilee Stakes on the final day of Royal Ascot 2015.

Darley purchased Brazen Beau as a potential stallion earlier in the year.

The Chris Waller-trained colt is the best-performed son of popular Australian sire I Am Invincible (by Invincible Spirit), and he came to the Royal meeting fresh from victory in the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington in March. He did his connections - old and new - proud with the most courageous solo run.

He carried the gold colours of Ontrack Thoroughbreds, a syndicate of 38 members, and will run in Godolphin colours on his next outing.

John Ferguson, bloodstock advisor to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, was full of praise for Brazen Beau's mighty effort.

"It was a wonderful run and underlines his value to us as a potential stallion. He is a top class racehorse with both speed and quality.

"If he has come out of the race well, the July Cup is a logical target that comes under consideration. We will be discussing the colt's plans with Sheikh Mohammed and Chris Waller," he added.

Team Godolphin enjoyed a successful Royal Ascot, finishing the week with two winners, four seconds and three thirds, for total win and place prizemoney of £370,624, and topped the Owner's Championship for a third time having previously won the prestigious title in 2011 and 2012.

The two winners, Buratino (Coventry Stakes) and Space Age (King George V Stakes), were both ridden by William Buick.

Both horses show potential, particularly the Mark Johnston-trained Buratino, who is early favourite for next year's 2000 Guineas.

Ferguson said: "We had a good Royal Ascot, though it was frustrating hitting the bar so many times. The intensity of competition at this meeting is higher than it has ever been. We are proud of our winners and the teams that prepared them."
