The well-related filly Gloriette makes a much-anticipated racing debut in the G3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington on Saturday, November 7.
Gloriette (John O'Shea/James McDonald) is a daughter of the former champion racehorse and top-class sire Lonhro from the Redoute's Choice mare Viennese.
Viennese is a sister to the good racetrack performer and outstanding sire Snitzel and a half-sister to Hinchinbrook who was a Stakes winner on the track and is making a name for himself at stud.
And according to trainer John O'Shea, her form at home and in trials suggests she has inherited plenty of her family's ability.
"We've got a very good opinion of this filly," O'Shea said.
"She's shown us ability and she's been quick to learn what it's all about. You can't always be over-optimistic when they're having their first start, but she is a well-put-together filly who can certainly gallop."
Godolphin has set the standard among the early-season juvenile fillies with the Randwick winner Calliope stamping herself the pick of those seen so far.
While O'Shea doesn't yet rate Gloriette to be on the same level as her stablemate, he is happy with her progress so far.
"She's settled in really well in Melbourne and she trialled well a couple of weeks ago," he said.
Gloriette won the 800m trial at Cranbourne with race jockey James McDonald in the saddle.
Her rivals on Saturday includes Dalradian, already the winner of two races, and Missrock who followed a debut win at Caulfield with a third placing at Flemington on Tuesday.
Gloriette has drawn barrier one in the nine-horse field.
