A strong group of fillies led by the Stakes-winner Kinshachi head the Godolphin line-up for day two of the annual feature meeting at Scone on Saturday.

Kinshachi (Darren Beadman/Christian Reith) has the opportunity to add to an already imposing record in the G3 Dark Jewel Classic, a race trainer Darren Beadman believes is made-to-order for the daughter of Commands.

“She’s certainly got the ability to win this type of race and she ran very well last start after being wide throughout and still looming up to win,” Beadman said.

“She’ll have taken great benefit from the run and her work has been first class since.”

Beadman will also saddle the promising juvenile fillies Almanzora (Tye Angland) and Epidemic (Tim Clark) who have good prospects in the Listed Woodlands Stakes.

“Almanzora has trialled very well since her last run when she raced upside down and went out too hard,” he said.

“Her racing manners were first class in the trial which was very strong. The horse who ran third in it won the Ken Russell in Brisbane last Saturday.”

The lightly-raced Epidemic, a half-sister to the Stakes winner Impending, has also impressed her trainer.

“She looks magnificent, I really like this filly, she’s got a bit of brilliance about her,” he said.

“At her only start she was desperately unlucky, she’s spelled well since then, she has good ability and has trialled well.”

The three-year-old filly Infra Dig (Rachael Murray) is another with a winning chance in the Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes while the geldings Grunderzeit (Jay Ford) and Old North (Tim Clark) are expected to be competitive in the Listed Luskin Star Stakes.

The Brisbane winter carnival also continues on Saturday with Godolphin represented by Morton’s Fork (Brenton Avdulla) in the Listed Queensland Day Stakes at Doomben.
