Godolphin has added further strength to its ranks of 'mile' specialists with the purchase of Dutch Connection and Home Of The Brave at the weekend.

The Charlie Hills-trained Dutch Connection and Home Of The Brave, trained by Hugo Palmer, are now set to give Godolphin a range of options in a series of feature races in coming months.

Both four-year-olds are on target to line-up in Saturday's G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

The two new additions will remain with their respective trainers, Hills and Palmer, but will
carry the famous Royal Blue silks for the first time.

John Ferguson, Godolphin's racing manager and chief executive, said: "Both Dutch Connection and Home Of The Brave are excellent horses, who will give us more depth in the ranks in our attempt to win the top one-mile and seven-furlong races in the calendar this year. They present us with plenty of interesting options.

"More importantly, though, they give us the chance to be competitive in the top international races later in the year, not only in Europe, but America, Asia and Australia, as well.

"The 'miler' division produces some outstanding stallion material, but for the time being, we are focussed on their racing careers and what they can achieve for Godolphin on the racecourse in 2016," Ferguson added.

Dutch Connection won the G3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier as a three-year-old, while Home Of The Brave landed the Listed Free Handicap at Newmarket.

They both ran well in Gleneagles' G1 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket in 2015 -- Home Of The Brave came home 6th and Dutch Connection 7th.

After the Lockinge, they are expected to target the G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.
