Haafaguinea tries to continue his excellent record at Meydan, UAE, in the G2 Dubai City Of Gold Sponsored By SkyCargo over a mile and a half on Super Saturday, March 5.

The Saeed bin Suroor-trained six-year-old has won or finished second on six of his seven starts at the course and tried to make all when runner-up to another Godolphin runner, Tryster, on his first outing at Group level in the 10-furlong G3 Dubai Millennium Stakes Sponsored by Al Tayer Motors on turf on February 18.

The son of Haafhd scored by half a length in a turf handicap over 12 furlongs on January 21, his first start for 11 months, and gained two 10-furlong handicap wins on turf at the 2015 Dubai World Cup Carnival.

Saeed bin Suroor said: "Haafaguinea ran a sound race to finish second to Tryster on his latest start.

"This is going to be a tougher race but the trip suits him well and I am hoping for a good run."

James Doyle has ridden Haafaguinea once so far and they have a 100 per cent record.

The Godolpgin contender takes on seven opponents headed by G1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes victor Postponed and G1 Longines Hong Kong Vase third Dariyan.
