Hauraki captured the Group Two Tulloch Stakes over 10 furlongs in great style at Rosehill Gardens, Australia, on Saturday, March 28.

The three-year-old Reset colt gave Godolphin, trainer John O'Shea and jockey James McDonald a fourth success on the day at Rosehill Gardens. Hauraki,

held up in 10th of the 15 runners on the inside, was kept towards the far side coming into the straight.

He came with a great run to go third with a furlong and a half remaining and took the lead within another furlong, drawing clear to triumph by two and a half lengths eased down from Omeros in 2m 3.10s on good going.

John O'Shea commented: "Hauraki went beautifully in the run and James let him travel along the rail but when the split came, he was devastating.

"It was a very convincing win and I feel he will be difficult to beat in the Derby. It has been a big day for the team.

"I would like to acknowledge the care and attention his first trainer Guy Walter gave this horse as a two-year-old which laid the foundation for the racing he is producing now."

The AUS$2-million Group One ATC Australian Derby is run over 12 furlongs at Royal Randwick on April 4.
