Promising two-year-old Igraine steps up to Group Three level in the Widden Stakes over an extended five furlongs at Rosehill Gardens, Australia, on Saturday, January 31.

The daughter of Denman stayed on gamely to take second, beaten half a length by stable companion Calaverite, on her debut in the five-furlong Listed Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes at Royal Randwick on October 4.

Her trainer John O'Shea commented: "Igraine presents into this race having had a beautiful barrier trial at Rosehill Gardens (January 20) and off a strong piece of work on Tuesday morning.

"From gate two, I expect her to box-seat in behind the leader Giulietta and be very hard to hold out.

"I think the wet ground will probably suit her evidenced by her wet ground barrier trial and good work on a wet track on Tuesday. I couldn't be happier with this filly."

James McDonald takes the ride on Igraine, who faces nine other two-year-old fillies including course and distance winner Giulietta, Gosford runner-up Fireworks, Randwick maiden second Tempt Me Not and Kensington barrier trail scorer Lake Geneva.
