The two-year-old filly Infra Dig will be out to give a strong first impression when she makes her racing debut in the G3, 1000m Emirates Airline Plate at Flemington on Tuesday, November 3.

Godolphin has already set a high standard among Australia's early-season juveniles with the filly Calliope winning in outstanding fashion at Randwick earlier this month at her only start.

While Infra Dig (John O'Shea/James McDonald) hasn't shown the same brilliance, the stable has at least been able to get a line on her potential.

And on what he has seen so far, trainer John O'Shea expects Infra Dig to be competitive on Tuesday.

"She's shown us quite a good standard of ability on the training track," O'Shea said.

"Before she came down to Melbourne she had a barrier trial in Sydney and wasn't asked to do a lot. She finished second but the important thing was that she didn't do anything wrong and she learned something about racing."

Infra Dig is by Exceed And Excel from the Encosta De Lago mare Shibboleth who was a winner at her first start.

"There's plenty of speed in the family and this filly looks like she inherited her share of it," O'Shea said.

Only four of the 16 runners in Saturday's event have race experience, among them the Caulfield winner Missrock.

Infra Dig has drawn barrier 15 in a race run over the Flemington straight course.
