Inns Of Court and Jimmy Two Times stayed on well to finish second and third respectively in the G3 Prix du Palais-Royal at Longchamp, France, on Saturday, 2 June.

The Andre Fabre-trained duo were both held up in the early stages of the seven-furlong contest, with Inns Of Court (Mickael Barzalona) recovering from a slow start to race in eighth of the nine runners, one place behind Jimmy Two Times (Vincent Cheminaud).

Four-year-old colt Inns Of Court, making his first start since coming home fifth in the G1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp in September, ran on after being switched down the inside rail in the straight and briefly challenged Polydream for the lead over a furlong out before staying on.

Jimmy Two Times, a five-year-old son of Kendargent who was second in the G2 Prix du Muguet on 1 May, also quickened strongly from the rear to go third inside the final furlong and galloped out well to finish a neck behind his stable-companion.

Both horses could not get on terms with Polydream, who was receiving 11lb from the Godolphin runners, with the three-year-old filly scoring by a length and a quarter over Inns Of Court in 1m 21.85s on soft ground.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “We were very pleased with the performances of Inns Of Court and Jimmy Two Times, who were both giving plenty of weight to the winner.

“Inns Of Court ran an excellent race on his first start of the year, while Jimmy Two Times lost his hind shoes during the race, which may have compromised his chances slightly.

“We will see how they come out of the race before making further plans but we couldn’t be happier with both horses”
