Twilight Payment makes a second appearance in the G3 Irish St Leger Trial at the Curragh, Ireland, on Saturday, August 19.

The four-year-old Teofilo colt, trained by Jim Bolger and ridden by Kevin Manning, was runner-up to Order Of St George in the 14-furlong contest 12 months ago before returning to the Curragh in September to capture the Listed Loughbrown Stakes over two miles.

Twilight Payment has made the frame on each of his four appearances this season, which have all been over a mile and three-quarters, including when taking second on his most recent start in the Listed Her Majesty's Plate at Down Royal on July 28.

His five rivals include Order Of St George, successful in the 2016 G1 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, last year’s G1 Irish St Leger winner Wicklow Brave and G2 Curragh Cup victor Rekindling.

Jimmy Hyland of Godolphin said: “Twilight Payment has been training very well and we are expecting a good run.

“If he puts up a decent performance, then we may look at the Irish St Leger (G1, Sept 10) as an option for him.”
