It's Somewhat and Complacent line up in a particularly strong renewal of the Group Two Pro-Ride Warwick Stakes at Royal Randwick, Australia, on Saturday, August 22.
The Godolphin duo face nine Group One winners in the seven-furlong contest including Flight Stakes victor First Seal, Doncaster Mile scorer Kermadec and Pornichet, who took the Doomben Cup on his latest start.
It's Somewhat (John O'Shea/James McDonald) makes his first appearance since fading to ninth in the Group One George Ryder Stakes over seven and a half furlongs at Rosehill Gardens on March 21.
The four-year-old scored on his Australian debut with a decisive win in the extended six-furlong Group Three Liverpool City Cup at Warwick Farm on February 28 and ran several excellent races in the UK last year, headed by a fine third in the 10-furlong Group One Coral-Eclipse at Sandown Park.
Five-year-old Complacent (John O'Shea/Christian Reith) is set for his first start since finishing strongly to take second in the Group One AAMI Victoria Derby over an extended mile and a half at Flemington in November, 2013.
The son of Authorized gained a hat-trick of victories, culminating with a impressive success in the 2013 renewal of the 10-furlong Group One Moet & Chandon Spring Champion at Royal Randwick.
John O'Shea said: "It's Somewhat has been in work for some time in preparation for this event - he has trialled beautifully and put in a nice piece of work on Wednesday morning.
"He has drawn an awkward gate in 11 but the foundation he has had should enable him to be competitive. He is one of the few set-weights performers in this field that is effective at 1,400 metres.
"I will ask James McDonald to let him come across steadily, try to slot in not too far off the leaders and give him a nice run first-up.
"He is a quality horse and will look the winner at some stage of this race and his preparation is indicative that he is going very well.
"Complacent has had three months of slow steady preparation and presents into this race off two nice trials. He is fit and ready to run a nice race but naturally lacks match practice.
"From gate eight, we will allow him to travel at mid-field and brush home to lay a good foundation for the rest of the spring.
"I couldn't be happier with this horse and, once he gets a few runs under his belt, I am sure he will be very competitive in the latter part of the spring."
