It's Somewhat, on his Australian debut, captured the Group Three Liverpool City Cup in good style at Warwick Farm, Australia, on Saturday, February 28.

The four-year-old, making his Godolphin debut and racing at six and a half furlongs for the first time, was settled on the inside in mid-division of the 14 runners by James McDonald as a fast pace was set up front.

He moved up to be sixth at the start of the straight and progressed further to go third at the distance.

His sweeping run took him ahead with a half-furlong remaining.

It's Somwhat was able to cruise home for a smooth success by a length and a quarter in 1m 15.88s on soft turf.

Trainer John O'Shea remarked: "It's Somewhat stayed on the fence around the corner, got a split at the top of the straight and from the 100-metre mark took the lead for a convincing win. He has had a really good debut in Australia."

It's Somewhat, who previously raced in the UK, could be aimed at the Group One Doncaster Mile at Royal Randwick on April 4 or the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 10 furlongs at the same course a week later.
