Jimmy Two Times runner-up in G2 Prix du Muguet

Jimmy Two Times was collared in the closing stages to come home second in the G2 Prix du Muguet at Saint-Cloud, France, on Tuesday, 1 May.

The Andre Fabre-trained five-year-old, aiming for a second victory in the mile contest following a half-length success in 2017, soon settled in a clear second of the seven runners for Mickael Barzalona as Oriental set off into an uncontested lead.

Jimmy Two Times cruised up to hit the front a furlong and a half from home and stayed on well but was headed just inside the final half-furlong by Recoletos, who quickened away to win by a length and three-quarters in 1m 42.49s on soft ground, with a further three lengths back to Taareef in third.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin said: “We were very pleased with the performance of Jimmy Two Times, who was beaten by a better horse on the day.

“We haven’t discussed any plans going forward and will wait to see how he comes out of this race before deciding where to go next.”
