Keeneland return for Robillard in Dowager Stakes

Robillard attempts to maintain her perfect record at Keeneland, USA, as she steps back up in class and trip for the 12-furlong G3 Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes (16.57 hrs local time) on Sunday, October 23.

The Kiaran McLaughlin-trained four-year-old, who has raced almost exclusively on turf, is two from two at the Kentucky grass course, winning a extended-mile maiden and an allowance race over a mile last year.

The filly was third in the 11-furlong G2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes at Belmont Park in May and kept on to finish second on her latest outing in the non-graded Lady Baltimore Stakes over an extended mile at Laurel Park on September 10.

Robillard, with Ricardo Santana Jr in the saddle for the first time, races against 12 fillies and mares headed by G2 scorer Elektrum.

Kiaran McLaughlin reported: "Robillard ran well to finish third over a slightly shorter trip in the Sheepshead Bay Stakes earlier this year, so we decided to try her over this distance.

"She is doing well, likes Keeneland and we expect her to run well."
