Maverick Wave and Windhoek switch back to turf for the Group Three Betfair Huxley Stakes over an extended mile and a quarter at Chester, UK, on Thursday, May 7.
Maverick Wave (John Gosden/William Buick) enjoyed a productive All-Weather campaign over the winter and won by 10 lengths on his latest start in a Polytrack handicap over 10 furlongs at Chelmsford City on March 28.
The four-year-old Elusive Quality colt also gained two further 10-furlong handicap wins on Polytrack at Lingfield Park as well as finishing a good fifth in the coral.co.uk Winter Derby Trial Stakes at the same course in February.
Maverick Wave was second on turf in the richest mile handicap in Europe, the Balmoral Handicap, at Ascot in October.
Five-year-old Windhoek (Saeed bin Suroor/James Doyle) makes his first appearance of 2015 following a comfortable success in the local Group Two France Galop - FRBC International Anatolia Trophy over 10 furlongs on Polytrack at Veliefendi, Turkey, on September 6.
The Cape Cross horse, a close third on turf in the Group Two Skybet York Stakes over an extended 10 furlongs at York in July, was a decisive winner of a Sandown Park turf Listed race over the same distance earlier the same month.
John Gosden commented: "Maverick Wave is in good form and he will enjoy the cut in the ground."
Saeed bin Suroor said: "Windhoek won well on his latest start in Turkey and we gave him a break after that run.
"He has been working well and I have been happy with his preparation.
"He's ready to go and I am looking forward to seeing him get his season started."
Maverick Wave, in stall four, and Windhoek, drawn seven, meet five rivals including dual US Grade Two winner Grandeur, Royal Ascot Group Three victor Cannock Chase and Newmarket Listed winner Air Pilot.
