Mischief Magic storms home for third in G2 Turf Sprint

Mischief Magic secured another Graded Stakes placing in the United States as he flashed home to grab third in the G2 Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs on Saturday, 4 May.

The Charlie Appleby-trained four-year-old had quickened from the rear to fill the runner-up spot in last month’s G2 Shakertown Stakes and once raced towards the back of the 14 runners.

Ninth at the top of the lane, Mischief Magic quickened strongly for Frankie Dettori entering the final furlong, collaring Coppola for third near the line.

Charlie Appleby said: “Mischief Magic has run another solid race and I’m sure one of these sprints is going to go his way over the course of the summer.”
