Moonlight Magic’s International third

Moonlight Magic kept on to finish third in the 10-furlong G3 International Stakes at the Curragh, Ireland, on Sunday, July 2. 

The Jim Bolger-trained four-year-old colt, partnered by Kevin Manning, soon raced in second of the six runners towards the outside behind the pace-setting Success Days.

The son of Cape Cross tried to challenge in the straight but could not reach Success Days who finished second as Johannes Vermeer swooped to win by a half-length and two and a quarter lengths in 2m 10.30s on good ground.

Jimmy Hyland of Godolphin commented: “Kevin was very happy with Moonlight Magic but thought the ground was quick enough for the horse.

“This was a step-up on Moonlight Magic’s previous performance and we hope it will set him up for the rest of the season.”
