Natural Scenery second in Northumberland

Natural Scenery ran an excellent race to finish a close second in the Northumberland Plate, the UK’s richest All-Weather handicap, at Newcastle, UK, on Saturday, July 1.
The four-year-old filly tacked across from stall 10 to settle in third of the 20 runners for the extended two-mile Tapeta contest under Josephine Gordon.
She was relegated to fourth after the first half-mile but stayed on strongly to press for the lead entering the final furlong.
Natural Scenery held every chance with a half a furlong to race but could not go with Higher Power, who ran on gamely to prevail by half a length 3m 35.37s, with a neck back to Flymetothestars in third.
Her trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: “Natural Scenery ran a big race to finish second and proved again that she is a very good filly on the All-Weather.
“This looks to be the right trip for her and, while there are no plans at the moment, we will try to find another good staying race.”
