Log Out Island battled gamely to finish a close second in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes over five furlongs at Royal Ascot, UK, on Thursday, June 18.
The Richard Hannon-trained two-year-old, having his second start, showed good early speed to take a narrow advantage from stable companion King Of Rooks after the first half-furlong.
He was asked to quicken by William Buick entering the final quarter-mile and rallied after being joined by King Of Rooks approaching the distance.
Log Out Island fought back strongly to dispute for the lead again but could not match Waterloo Bridge, who ran on well to win by half a length in 59.98s on good to firm turf, with the same margin back to King Of Rooks in third.
Richard Hannon said: "I was disappointed with the result of the Norfolk Stakes, with Log Out Island second and King Of Rooks third.
"They are two very good horses and maybe we set the race up for the winner - that is probably the case.
"I think Log Out Island will definitely go six furlongs in future."
William Buick added: "I thought Log Out Island ran great."He has only had one run in his life, and it is very tough coming to Royal Ascot off that, so I'm very happy with his performance."
