Debut winner Ottoman steps up to Group Two level in the Blackwoods Uvex Silver Slipper Stakes over an extended five furlongs at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, February 21.
The two-year-old Exceed And Excel filly, trained by John O'Shea and partnered by James McDonald, was hampered early on before storming through the 13-strong field to gain a head verdict in a Rosehill Gardens maiden, also over five and a half furlongs, on December 20.
John O'Shea commented: "Ottoman is ready to run a race, and is very forward. We are going into the serious part of the season now where we need them to all run well and I am sure she will.
"She is fit and well, has drawn a slightly awkward gate in eight so we will allow James McDonald to make an assessment during the run.
"If she begins well, she may find herself closer to the lead but, as we have seen, she does better when coming from back in the field."
Ottoman tackles six other juveniles including fellow debut scorers Headwater, Paceman and Voilier.
