Juvenile fillies Ottoman and Calaverite step up to six furlongs for the Group Two Guinness Reisling Stakes at Royal Randwick, Australia on Saturday, March 7.

Ottoman (John O'Shea/James McDonald) has made two appearances over five and a half furlongs at Rosehill Gardens.

The daughter of Exceed And Excel finished fourth in the Group Two Blackwoods Uvex Silver Slipper Stakes on February 21 and won by a head in a maiden on her December 20 debut.

Calaverite (John O'Shea/Sam Clipperton) was sixth to Haptic in the Listed DX Solutions Lonhro Plate over five and a half furlongs at Royal Randwick on February 14.

The Lonhro filly ran on strongly for a half-length win over Igraine in the five-furlong Listed Keeneland Gimcrack Stakes at the same course on October 4.

John O'Shea said: "Ottoman was disappointing in the Silver Slipper but we have freshened her up and let her get rounded and happy in an attempt to make sure that this run is a positive performance going into the Golden Slipper.

"She has drawn awkwardly in gate seven again but hopefully James McDonald is able to give her a nice run in transit.

"We are happy with the way she has progressed - she looks well and has a great blood profile. We just want to see a nice positive outing to lay a foundation for her run in the Golden Slipper in a fortnight.

"Calaverite comes into this race in good order and has finally drawn a nice gate (two). She has had three weeks since her first-up run, giving lovely continuity to her preparation.

"She will get the opportunity to pop in behind the lead and have a lovely run in transit which she hasn't had this time in. I am optimistic about her chances and she will improve again following this run.

Ottoman and Calaverite face seven other two-year-old fillies including debut winner English, Group Three scorer Fireworks and Listed second Stay With Me.
