Jungle Cat is out to continue a good start to the year on his European return in the five-furlong G3 Palace House Stakes at Newmarket, UK, on Saturday, April 30.
The Charlie Appleby-trained sprinter ran three excellent races on turf at Meydan, UAE, during this year's Dubai World Cup Carnival, most recently when coming home a close fourth in the G1 Al Quoz Sprint over five furlongs on March 26.
The son of Iffraaj was beaten a nose over the same trip in the G3 Meydan Sprint on March 5 and started the year with a clear-cut success in a six-furlong handicap on January 28.
Regular jockey William Buick takes the ride again on the four-year-old colt, who faces 21 rivals from stall 18 including multiple G1 winner Sole Power, plus G3 scorers Waady and Cotai Glory.
Charlie Appleby commented: "Jungle Cat looks to be in good shape and his performances in Dubai were very pleasing.
"We would like sound ground but conditions should be fine at Newmarket. He is nearly top-rated in the race and should be very competitive."
