Hazard took the honours in the Group Three William Hill Proud Miss Stakes at Morphettville, Australia, on Saturday, May 16.

The five-year-old Flying Spur mare, trained by Lee & Anthony Freedman, broke smartly for Ben Melham.

She raced just behind the leaders on the inside and was fourth turning for home before being switched out to mount a challenge.

Hazard came with a good run to take the lead well inside the final furlong from old rival Miss Promiscuity and won going away by three quarters of a length in 1m 9.90s on good turf.

It was her first Group victory.

Lee Freedman commented: "Hazard has been knocking on the door to win a black type race and deserved this very good win. I cannot really fault her."
