Two-year-old colts Ribchester and Log Out Island go for Group Two success in the six-furlong Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury, UK, on Saturday, September 19.

Ribchester (Richard Fahey/James Doyle) kept on well from the rear to take second, beaten a length and a quarter by Ajaya, in the Group Two Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes over the same distance at York on August 22.

The son of Iffraaj was also runner-up over six furlongs on his debut in a Doncaster maiden on July 9.

Log Out Island (Richard Hannon/Andrea Atzeni) makes a quick reappearance after rallying well to finish a close third in the five-furlong Group Two Fly Aer Lingus From Doncaster Sheffield Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster on September 11.

The Dark Angel colt has made two appearances at Group Two level over six furlongs, finishing seventh in the Qatar Richmond Stakes at Goodwood on July 30 and taking third in the GAIN Railway Stakes at the Curragh, Ireland, on June 27.

He started out with two five-furlong appearances at Ascot, following up an impressive debut win on April 29 with a half-length second in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes at the Royal meeting on June 18.

Richard Fahey commented: "Ribchester is in good form, although the ground will be something of an unknown. It was on the easy side of good when he won at York but this looks as though it will be a fair bit softer.

"We will give him a chance on the ground and see what happens."

Richard Hannon said: "Log Out Island has had a busy season, but he ran one of his best races so far in last week's Flying Childers at Doncaster, and, though he was reverting to five (furlongs) there, we know that six is not a problem.

"The most encouraging thing about his performance on Town Moor was how well he battled. People have sometimes questioned his attitude, but he really knuckled down and rallied at Doncaster and he has a definite chance in what looks an open renewal."

Ribchester and Log Out Island take on four other two-year-olds including Gimcrack Stakes third Raucous, Listed winner Whitman and unbeaten King Robert.
