Al Qahwa goes for the Group Three Round Tower Stakes over six furlongs at the Curragh, Ireland, on Sunday, August 30.

The two-year-old colt, trained by Michael Halford, went down by a neck to Redstaroverchina after making most in a six-furlong conditions race at Naas on August 3.

The son of Fast Company was the comfortable winner of a maiden race over the same distance at Leopardstown on July 16 and began his career by finishing third in a six-furlong maiden at Naas on June 24.

Michael Halford said: "Al Qahwa has been in very good form since his run in Naas. He will appreciate the ease in the ground and it looks a good trip for him.

"He has to improve on his rating with Rockaway Valley, while Smash Williams looked very good in winning a maiden last week, but our fellow is capable of better than he has shown so far in these conditions."

James Doyle partners Al Qahwa for the first time.

The six opponents include Redstaroverchina and Group Two Railway Stakes runner-up Rockaway Valley plus the impressive maiden winners Smash Williams and Juliette Fair.
